As part of the government funded Kickstart Scheme, we’re looking for an enthusiastic and creative Marketing and Admin Assistant to support our Marketing Manager in undertaking activities supporting the delivery of our overall marketing strategy.

Due to COVID-19, this role is currently home-based, however the business may revert back to office working and in this instance the employee may be occasionally required to attend on-site meetings at one of SWIG’s offices (Lowena House, Truro, TR4 9NY or Leigh Court Business Centre, Bristol, BS8 3RA).

We therefore ask that candidates only apply if they can commute to one of these locations. Applications from outside the South West will not be considered.

There may also be occasions when the employee is expected to attend external meetings, such as photo shoots or trade shows and events.

This role is a 6 month placement for 25 hours per week at the National Minimum Wage or National Living Wage, depending on your age, through the government Kickstart Scheme. Our offices operate Monday – Friday from 9am to 5pm, we are flexible and can discuss working patterns for the successful candidate.

About the role:
• Generating engaging content for online consumption
• Handling Social Media channels
• Maintaining events calendar
• Overseeing PR process and communicating with external journalists
• Building positive relationships with key stakeholders
• Project delivery supporting marketing strategy

About You:
Good experience in marketing or a similar role would be advantageous.
Enthusiastic and committed to provide an exemplary service.

Essential key skills:
• Highly literate
• Creative Writing
• Confidence to speak to people from all walks of life
• Organisational and time management skills
• Commercial awareness
• Adaptability and able to work autonomously
• Good teamworking skills
• Communication skills
• IT skills

Desirable but not essential skills:
• A degree subject such as Marketing, Business, Journalism or Media
• Experience working on Adobe Suite
• Experience using Wordpress
• Photography
• Full Driving Licence
